EIA reports a 98 billion cubic foot weekly climb in U.S. natural-gas supplies



The U.S. Energy Information Administration reported on Thursday that domestic supplies of natural gas rose by 98 billion cubic feet for the week ended June 4. That was generally in line with the average increase of 95 billion cubic feet forecast by analysts polled by S&P Global Platts. Total stocks now stand at 2.411 trillion cubic feet, down 383 billion cubic feet from a year ago and 55 billion cubic feet below the five-year average, the government said. was up 4 cents, or 1.2%, at $3.17 per million British thermal units. It traded at $3.19 shortly before the data.
